Karla Fawbush is an education consultant who works with districts to design, fund and evaluate their programs. She is the former director of magnet schools in a seven district consortium in Minnesota, where some of her responsibilities included working on grant applications, managing funded grants, and completing federally required project reports and annual evaluations.
Ms. Fawbush collaborated with school-based personnel and central office staff to implement high quality magnet school programs supported by best practices, and served as the liaison between the magnet office and the seven districts to ensure that the appropriate district, building and community support was provided to each program.
After graduating with degrees in French, English and journalism, Ms. Fawbush taught secondary education, wrote French textbooks and ancillary materials, received several national fellowships, and served as a curriculum coordinator. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota and an Education Specialist in administration degree from the University of St. Thomas.
