Deidra K. Honeywell, Ph.D.

Dr. Deidra K. Honeywell has been an educator for over 40 years. She has extensive experience in project/grant management, project/program development, project/program evaluation, and grant writing. She has participated in project evaluations in 9 states including Florida. During more than 25 years of grant writing her efforts have brought districts in excess of $75 million.

DKH Consulting Services, Inc. has conducted project evaluations for the following projects: Magnet Schools Assistance Program, Advanced Placement Incentive Program, Smaller Learning Communities, and Teaching American History. In addition, she has written funded grant proposals for each of the above programs as well as numerous other grant proposals. Dr. Honeywell has been the primary writer on eight funded MSAP grants as well as consulting for numerous other MSAP proposals.

She began writing competitive grants during her tenure as a MSAP project manager. Dr. Honeywell works with district staff and community partners to develop project objectives, activities, and evaluations. In addition to experience in evaluating local and state grant applications, she has been invited to Washington, DC to read and evaluate competitive applications for several federal programs.

Dr. Honeywell has given a number of workshops on grant writing, developing fundable project ideas, and project implementation as well as other topics to audiences which have included teachers, parents, school administrators, and community-based personnel. Dr. Honeywell has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education, a master’s degree in gifted education and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction. All three degrees are from the University of South Florida. Additionally, Dr. Honeywell has taught undergraduate and graduate courses for the University of South Florida, Nova Southeastern, and National Lewis University.
